the re-homing process
Start the process of gaining a Friend 4 Life
If you have read the stories about re-homing and also read and understood the terms and conditions of our re-homing scheme and would still like to apply to re-home one of our animals please read about the process below.

As mentioned, we believe that every horse deserves a second chance and here at Bransby we are dedicated to finding our horses a friend 4 life where we make every effort to pair animal and human so that both remain happy and secure. This may mean that you are not paired with a particular horse or pony that you have in mind however, we have a great deal of experience and pride ourselves on the perfect pairing!

The aim of the re-homing process is to ensure potential loanees have fully considered all the implications and costs involved in re-homing an equine.

It is also to enable us to match suitable equines to suitable homes.
Equines will only re-homed within a 60mile radius of Bransby.

Stage 1
Potential loanees read through our Terms & Conditions and need to agree to them before filling in the online application form for a ridden equine or a companion

Stage 2
We will review applications as they are submitted and close applications for each animal once a maximum of five have been received.

We will select the most suitable candidate to visit Bransby for stage 3. All unsuccessful applicants will be contacted. Please be patient as this may take time.

Stage 3
Successful applicants will be invited to come to Bransby to meet us and discuss your application further. This meeting will include a full discussion of our Terms and Conditions and signing them once agreed, and a further discussion of the re-homing process and the costs involved in keeping an equine.

You will then have a short riding/handling assessment with a resident schoolmaster horse. Correct riding wear needs to be worn for the riding assessment, boots with a heel, riding hat and back protector. If this is not possible please advise us in advance. You will then have your first meeting with the proposed equine.

Stage 4
A date will be agreed for a home visit to be carried out, to make sure the facilities are appropriate for that particular equine. If any changes are needed a second visit will be arranged.
Stage 5
Several other appointments will need to be made for the potential loanee to ride and/or handle the prospective equine. This will include handling/ riding in different situations to make sure the appropriate home is found.
Stage 6
When both parties are happy to proceed the equine will undergo a vetting; the potential loanee will be kept informed of the process.
Stage 7
A re-homing meeting will be arranged to discuss the agreement and responsibilities. This is when the agreement will be signed.
There is a one off donation fee of £75 for companions and £150 for ridden.

Stage 8
Arrangements for delivery will be made. (Delivery fee subject to distance please see below)

Delivery Charges: A standard rate of £20.00 will be charged plus 75p/mile.

All pictures shown are of Bransby equines in loan homes.

You will be able to contact us at any time for ongoing support and advice.
Support visits will be carried out at least twice a year.
