Police horses retired at Bransby

Two Greater Manchester Police horses have been retired to Bransby after many years service.

Boz, a 19 year old Irish Draught gelding and Fitz an 18 year old Thoroughbred cross geldings have served for many years as police horses. They had been used for crowd control at football matches and demonstrations, for high visibility patrols and to search large areas for missing or vulnerable people and for day-to-day patrolling on the streets of Manchester. Boz took part in the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in Windsor in 2002.

They have left Isolation and are now happily settled on the main yard enjoying their peaceful retirement.
