Digit
Digit has a very traumatic past, having been badly burnt in a stable fire. He still has scars on his legs and belly and was very lucky to survive.
Jigily
This very handsome cob came to Bransby in 2004. He suffers from a condition called ‘Wobblers’ which affects his nervous system. Jigily is still young, but his condition will get worse with age.
Sparky
Sparky was rescued as a confused stallion who was being sent for slaughter because his fear made him behave badly. With kind handling at Bransby he soon became the sweet, happy pony you can meet today.
Mumphy
Mumphy is a stunning Shire horse who weighs almost one tonne! He is incredibly strong but suffers from very sensitive skin and needs protection from strong sun and insects.
Gemma
Donkeys can become so lonely they make themselves ill if they have no company. Gemma came to Bransby in 2003 when she desperately needed some friends and is much happier now.
Ebony This lively mule was not always so happy. She was found wandering along a dangerously busy road in Gainsborough before Bransby brought her into the safety of the Home.
Craigie Boy Many racehorses are unwanted once their careers are over. Thankfully Craigie Boy was loved even when his racing days were over and is now safe at Bransby for the rest of his days. Craigie Boy is a true gentleman in every way and loves lots of cuddles and affection.
Twiggy
This tiny Shetland mare has had a very hard life. She was dumped at the side of a road and found trying to give birth to a very large foal. The foal sadly died and Twiggy was left with damage to her insides.
Alfred
Alfred is a very large, very handsome mule and one of Bransby’s most unusual residents. He spent many years working with soldiers being trained to use pack animals on special operations.
Domino
Domino came to Bransby in 2009 with his best friend Nero. Donkeys are different to horses in lots of ways and it takes special knowledge to care for them properly.
Nero
A beautiful chocolate brown donkey, Nero is a favourite with everyone who meets him. Nero suffers from a condition called ‘Cushings’ which means he needs medication every day. He is always with his best friend Domino.
Largo Largo is a beautiful welsh pony with two blue eyes! He has suffered in the past from a condition called laminitis which causes a lot of pain in his feet. We manage Largo carefully to try and make sure he doesn’t get laminitis again.
These characterful best friends were rescued after being found loose in the middle of Lincoln. Very young and scared, the two were also underweight and full of worms.
